I could not wait to post a review of this restaurant after our seating last night. We had the most wonderful evening thanks to Verve. We ordered the degustation with wine, which was $149 and worth every cent. The pumpkin tart was lovely, the scallops were cooked perfectly and the pork belly was beautifully presented. The lamb shoulder course was the highlight and to say it was flavoursome would be an understatement. The cheese platter and dessert was a great way to finish off the meals.
But the wine… it was the best selection of wine I have ever encountered, and it was all Australian! The staff were attentive without being intrusive, and very knowledgeable on the wine as well. The restaurant is tucked away and has a very unassuming shop front, but that only made the surprise of how wonderful it was on the inside all the sweeter. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, and the degustation on offer,
for a special occasion or romantic evening.

Gorgeous hidden gem that I’d love to keep all to myself
but is just to amazing not to share!
Amazing food, wine, staff and decor. My family and I had the Degustation menu and the only thing I would perhaps add to this, is a small palate cleanser in there before dessert.
Other than that, all I can say is that I wish you guys were in Sydney!

My partner and I were looking for somewhere special to take some friends visiting from Japan. Verve exceeded our expectations. All the meals were excellent and beautifully presented.
A well priced wine list with some quality Australian wines and wonderful service completed our evening. Well worth a visit.

There are many bars and restaurants on the Gold Coast. Most cater to middle of the road clients on a budget. To get 5 star service you normally have to go to a 5 star hotel. Verve is a small hole in the wall that seats 40 diners maximum. Cozy in the Melbourne type of feel, the service was great and the food even better. We had the degustation menu for 8 paired with wine. It wasn’t cheap ($150 each) but for the special occasion that it was it was it was perfect.
The degustation menu without wine is $95 each but ala carte is also available. Nikko our waiter/sommelier was attentive and knowledgeable, explaining each course and the key ingredients and tastes to expect in an interesting and informative way. Each course (6 in total) was expertly paired with great Australian wines from different regions. I suppose that we could have bought wines individually or brought in our own and paid the corkage, but the total experience was worth the extra cost. If you want something special and more intimate this is the restaurant on the Gold Coast to try. Highly recommended!
